OUR HISTORY

The Villa Romita Winery was founded in 1997 but its history has much deeper origins.
It all began with Erminio's passion for viticulture and Verdicchio, who worked, for a long time, as a foreman in a Cooperative Cellar in the Marche. This passion was passed on to his son Maurilio, who already, in 1974, joined his father in the winery mentioned above, where he gained considerable knowledge regarding the management of the vineyards and the use of new enological technologies.
Today the winery Villa Romita is menaged by Maurilio, his wife Simonetta and their son Samuele. The winery is composed by 34 hectares of vineyard Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC classic and 10 hectares of red grapes such as Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Lacrima di Morro D'Alba. The philosophy of the winery has always been the obtaining a product of the highest quality with total respect for the vineyard, enhancing the raw material as much as possible, in fact all the harvesting work is done exclusively by hand, no systemic products are used and the The grapes introduced into the cellar are soft pressed with the most modern oenological equipment.
